      <image:title>About Me - A Brief History.</image:title>
<image:caption>I’m a healthcare communications strategist, editorial leader, and executive relationship lead on a mission to create meaningful content that solves real problems. I help leaders turn complex ideas into clear strategy, compelling stories, and trusted relationships with the audiences that matter most. Today, my work at NYU Langone Health sits at the intersection of executive communications, biomedical research, academic medicine, and institutional reputation. I serve as a strategic partner to senior research and academic leaders, helping shape messaging around scientific discovery, medical education, clinical trials, AI, precision medicine, and the future of healthcare. Before stepping into this executive advisory role, I built and led a wide-ranging portfolio of editorial products across one of the country’s top academic health systems. That work included consumer-style magazines, research storytelling, employee communications, digital signage, media walls, and new forms of institutional news. One favorite project: a series of patient guides called The Operator’s Manual, inspired by the classic owner’s manual found in most glove compartments. You own a manual for your car. Why not for your body? A core part of my work has always been shaping editorial strategy across an ever-expanding mix of channels and platforms. I have overseen NYU Langone’s employee news portal, reaching tens of thousands of readers, and helped rethink content for hundreds of digital signs and media walls. After a soup-to-nuts overhaul of the employee portal, engagement jumped sharply in just two months. I also quadrupled content output without expanding staff or budget. Analytics matter. So does judgment. For me, the work is about rallying teams to think big, deliver quality, partner well, and have fun. Print, digital, video, social, AI-assisted workflows, metaverse eventually — I handle it. Previous editorial posts include executive editor of Discover Magazine, features editor of Popular Science, and director of content for the World Science Festival. I graduated from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine Expertise across all social platforms, including ye old print. nmdyer@gmail.com linkedin.com/in/nicolemdyer</image:caption>
